The difference between PVC pipe and PE pipe is as follows:

PVC (polyvinyl chloride) tube

A rigid polyvinyl chloride pipe refers to a polyvinyl chloride pipe to which no or a small amount of plasticizer is added, and is usually classified into types I, II and III. Type I is ordinary hard polyvinyl chloride, type II is UPVC with modifier, and type III is chlorinated PVC pipe with good heat resistance.
advantage:
(1) It is insoluble in petroleum, mineral oil and other non-polar solvents, and can withstand general acid and alkali corrosion.
(2) It has good self-extinguishing performance.
(3) It meets the strict requirements of drinking water and drinking water according to the drinking water hygiene index.
(4) The general price is 30% cheaper than galvanized pipe and 40% cheaper than ductile iron pipe. In addition, the product is light in weight, easy to construct, and the total cost of the project is at least 20%.
(5) The technical standards are the most complete, there are national standards for pipes, and there are also national standards for pipe fittings. The installation technical specifications are the most complete, and the construction acceptance specifications are the most complete.
(6) The product specifications are the most, the pipe diameter is from DN20 to DN750, the full plastic pipe diameter is from DN20 to DN200, and the pipe with diameter DN200 or more also has metal pipe fittings, and plastic steel pipe fittings are available for connection.
(7) The inner diameter is smooth, reducing the energy consumption of water delivery.
Disadvantages:
(1) It should not be used as a hot water pipe, but it can be used as a domestic water supply pipe, but it should not be used as a direct drinking water supply pipe.
(2) Easy to be brittle when impacted.
(3) Some low-quality counterfeit UPVC pipes have added plasticizers in their production, which can cause media contamination and greatly shorten the aging period of UPVC pipes.
Connection method:
(1) Bonded connection (rigid connection).
(2) Elastomeric seal connection (flexible connection).
(3) Flange connection.
(4) Threaded pipe and pipe fittings with diameter from DN20 to DN160. Pipes and pipes can be connected at the same time. However, in actual construction, we believe that it is not suitable to use bonding in buried pipe construction with diameter above DN63. Connection, reason: (a) The use of a flexible connection in the buried pipe can more effectively resist the settlement of the terrain, external impact and the like. (b) In some areas, there is more groundwater. If the bonding is used, there is no adhesion between the water and the oily adhesive when the adhesive is applied to the adhesive interface.
PE (polyethylene) tube
The PE pipe is a large number of water supply pipes used in actual engineering.
advantage:
(1) Good low temperature performance.
(2) Resistance to mechanical shock.
(3) good toughness, can be coiled.
Disadvantages:
(1) The melting point is 100 to 130 degrees Celsius. It is not suitable for hot water pipes. It should be used for working temperature not higher than 40 °C.
(2) Easy stress cracking, not easy to dye. Scope of application: Suitable as a cold water pipe, widely used as drinking water pipes and rainwater pipes.
Connection method:
1. When the electrofusion connection is connected by the same thermoplastic pipe, a special electrofusion pipe member is inserted, and the electrofusion pipe member is energized by the electrofusion coupling device, and the required heat is generated by the electric wire pre-embedded inside the electrofusion pipe member to weld. After cooling, the pipe and the electrofusion pipe are connected as a whole.
2. Hot-melt connection When the pipe made of the same thermoplastic is connected to the pipe, the surface of the joint is heated by a special hot-melt machine, and the body materials at the joints are fused to each other, and then cooled to form a whole. The hot melt connection has a butt-type hot melt connection, a socket type hot melt connection, and an electrofusion connection.
PE pipe is safe and non-toxic, and its flexibility and impact resistance are better than PVC. It can be used as underground gas pipeline and tap water pipeline. PVC pipe is used for a long time to precipitate chlorine ions. It is not suitable for tap water pipe, and it is not suitable for impact resistance. Gas pipelines are used, but PVC pipes are low in price and high in hardness. They are affected by temperature and heat, and are often used for drainage pipes and rainwater pipes.
